After missing the first 11 games of the season due to a torn triceps, veteran left tackle, Jared Veldheer, will finally make his season debut for the Oakland Raiders according to Steve Corkran of Contra Costa Times via Twitter:

With Veldheer out with injury, the Raiders have really struggled to provide protection on the offensive line. Veldheer is arguably one of the team’s best players and has been sorely missed. The left tackle position has been a revolving door due to Veldheer’s absence with rookie Menelik Watson, Khalif Barnes and Tony Pashos all taking a crack at filling the void, but no one has been able to fill the shoes of Veldheer.

Unfortunately, with the return of Veldheer, a player had to be waived. Rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson turned out to be the player that was let go and may get another opportunity with another team as a result. Wilson was waived earlier in the season, but the Raiders decided to sign him to the practice squad after he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Wilson may once again be signed by Oakland if no other team puts in a waiver claim. As for Veldheer, the return of the starting left tackle will be a considerable upgrade for a banged up offensive line giving more time for Matt McGloin to get things going in the passing game.
