After seemingly endless speculation, the Oakland Raiders will be staying in Oakland for a little bit longer.
All indications pointed toward a drastic change for the storied NFL franchise with little hope of the team being able to stay in Oakland with the lease expiring the 2013 NFL season.
With current owner Mark Davis being reluctant to sign another short-term lease in order to stay in Oakland, the writing appeared to be on the wall with it being only a matter of time before the Raiders would move. Los Angeles seemed to be a likely destination with Farmers Field a potential landing spot for the silver and black, but now plans may have changed with the team agreeing to stick around for at least one more year.
Although staying in Oakland long-term may still be a stretch for the Raiders, the team will not be going anywhere until after the 2014 NFL season comes to an end.
