After two straight losses, the Oakland Raiders’ playoff hopes are slowly slipping away. After guaranteeing more wins and the playoffs, Terrelle Pryor has struggled by throwing more interceptions than touchdowns and many are now questioning if he can be the future face of the franchise.
Although Pryor played through an injury against the Giants, former Raider Bill Romanowski and Lorenzo Neal talked about the team’s problems in the red zone and mentioned that Tim Tebow may be the answer. While the defense has kept them in games, the offense has been extremely inconsistent and it’s clear that Pryor still needs time to develop.
Despite all the negativity the past two weeks, the Raiders have shown potential and Jon Gruden has expressed interest in coaching again. While he is currently an analyst for ESPN, Gruden is reportedly interested in Oakland or Atlanta.
While head coach Dennis Allen has exceeded expectations this season, management may be looking to bring back the familiar face and popular icon with the Raiders on the rise. Should Mark Davis believes that Allen is expendable at the end of the season, Gruden returning to the Raiders is a great possibility.
