After a 24-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Raiders used their bye week to improve their execution on both sides of the football. With the return of center Stefen Wisniewski and Darren McFadden looking explosive during practices, the Raiders are hopeful that they can capitalize at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Heading into Sunday, one advantage was taken away from the Raiders according to Marcel Reece. With the Oakland A’s being eliminated in the MLB Playoffs, there is no longer infield dirt during the Raiders’ home games. The one-time Pro Bowler mentioned that it gave Oakland an advantage since they’re the only team with experience playing on it. However, Reece went on to say that the fans ultimately give the Raiders the best home field advantage and it doesn’t matter what field they play on.
With both teams 2-4, the Raiders look to keep their playoff hopes alive at home. Despite being 3-point underdogs on Sunday, the bye week helped the players get refreshed and that should ultimately make the difference as the Raiders look to improve to 3-4 this season.
