It has been a rough offseason for Puka Nacua, who has constantly found his name in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The two-time Pro Bowler is currently dealing with a lawsuit after allegedly biting a woman on New Year’s Eve. He also checked into a rehab facility in Malibu at one point to get right.

But Nacua is making progress as he recently rejoined his Los Angeles Rams teammates for organized team activities (OTAs).

Quentin Lake said Nacua is doing well and praised him for all the growth he has shown as a person, via The Arena: Gridiron:

“He looks like he’s in a really good spot. That’s what I would say. To me, getting to know him really over the past three years, three and a half years, he’s one of the most selfless, amazing human beings that you’ll ever meet if you really get to talk to him. He cares about a lot of other people… When a guy goes up there, and the first thing he does is be accountable, you’re like ‘I respect that. Life happens, there’s situations that you might put yourself in that might be unfortunate in this and that, but if you can learn from them, and move on, and grow. As somebody that is in his corner that is going to support him no matter what, that’s all you want to see. The growth and accountability coming from a guy that’s a fantastic player.”

It sounds like Nacua is taking the right steps to better himself both as a person and football player, which is great news for him and the Rams going into the 2026 season.

Nacua is due for a massive contract extension, but the Rams aren’t in any rush to get a deal done as they want to see how he continues to behave before committing to him long-term.

It may be something the team revisits during training camp, which is typically when they get a lot of their extensions done.

Puka Nacua appreciates Rams’ support

Nacua expressed gratitude to the Rams organization and his teammates for the support they have given him.

“I’ve been really grateful for the support from the organization, especially my teammates. People reaching out at different times of the offseason, just, one, checking out how I’m doing, see how my family’s doing with my son growing up as he is,” Nacua said. “So I’m just really grateful for the people around me and in this organization.”
