The Los Angeles Rams are gearing up for one of the most anticipated seasons since the team moved back to L.A. The Rams are coming off a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game and responded by adding Myles Garrett — and potentially a returning Aaron Donald — to an already star-laden team with Matthew Stafford, Trent McDuffie, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and more.
This season, the rivalry between the Rams and the Seahawks is as strong as it has ever been. The teams faced off three times last season, with the Seahawks taking two of three and all games being decided by four of fewer points. That rivalry, at least for Nacua, has turned into real anger, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times:
“I hate everybody over there,” Nacua said on the Aug. 11 edition of the “Impaulsive Podcast.” “I’m like, there’s no friends over there. I think the No. 1 guy, Julian Love over there, I think is his name. He plays safety. We’re not friends. He’s taken a couple shots at me, like, midgame, and I definitely find my opportunities to get back at him, too.”
Nacua mentioned Seahawks safety Julian Love by name as a player he dislikes, and Love responded:
“Surprised?” Love said Tuesday. “Maybe a bit. But expected. Division rival. We’ve had some tough games. Played hard. Funny that he name dropped me.”
Anything of this nature becomes bulletin board material, and both teams have plenty of it entering the 2026 season. The Rams are looking to avenge their NFC title game loss against the now-reigning Super Bowl champions while the Seahawks need to fend off a more motivated, angry and talented Rams team than the one they faced in January.
All of this just adds excitement and anticipation to a season that Rams fans were already highly looking forward to. They are going to be the team to watch all season long, especially if Donald ultimately decides to return to the mix.
Puka Nacua day-to-day with soreness
Nacua has missed a couple of days of practice during Rams training camp, but that seems to be a precaution. Head coach Sean McVay said that they are taking it one day at a time, and that Nacua is doing well after leaving joint training camp with the Dallas Cowboys early last week.
Week 1 is around three weeks away, giving Nacua time to get fully healthy for the 2026 season.
