The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots, 29-13, in a Super Bowl LX matchup that was more lopsided than the score suggests.

The Seahawks defense dominated the game — just as they did all season — holding Patriots quarterback Drake Maye to only 60 passing yards through three quarters. They also sacked him six times and forced three turnovers.

Seattle led by 19 points in the fourth quarter before New England finally got on the scoreboard. But the game was never really in doubt for the Seahawks, who cruised to their second Super Bowl title in franchise history.

During an appearance on The Richard Sherman Podcast, Seahawks star defensive back Nick Emmanwori implied that the Los Angeles Rams gave his team a tougher time in the NFC Championship Game than the Patriots:

“It was just a different feeling. No disrespect to the Patriots or nothing like that. I don’t want to take nothing away from them, but that game – that game was, like, legit. You know how it is with the rivalries. The Rams, they come in, Stafford, he’s a hell of a quarterback. McVay always got a hell of a plan. That game was definitely different. It was a different type of game. It was live. I was in my zone. I was focused.”

The Rams and Seahawks have one of the best rivalries in football, and that was evident in all three of their games this past season.

Each matchup came down to the wire, including the final meeting, where the winner would advance to the Super Bowl to face the Patriots.

The Rams had a chance to take a late lead against the Seahawks, but they were stopped on fourth down and didn’t get the ball back until there was virtually no time left on the clock.

The Rams and Seahawks were widely considered the two best teams in football this season, and it seems even the players strongly believed that as well.

Rams’ Matthew Stafford expected Seahawks to defeat Patriots in Super Bowl LX

Although they are rivals on the field, the Rams and Seahawks clearly have each other’s respect. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford previously said that he expected the Seahawks to defeat the Patriots convincingly in Super Bowl LX.

L.A. went 1-2 against Seattle this past season, but it wasn’t without big performances from Stafford, who nearly helped the team complete a comeback win in the NFC Championship Game.

The Rams didn’t have the outcome they wanted, but they’ll get at least two more cracks at the Seahawks in 2026, with Stafford expected to be under center for another season.
