With two first-round draft picks and more than $40 million in salary cap space, the Los Angeles Rams are expected to aggressively pursue roster upgrades this offseason.
One of the biggest names on the trade market is Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who has established himself as one of the best sack artists in the NFL today.
Crosby has been loyal to the Raiders, but he is turning 29 this year and might be open to playing elsewhere if it means competing for a Super Bowl.
The Rams are among the several contenders reportedly keeping tabs on a potential Crosby trade, via Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated:
We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability.
The Rams don’t necessarily need a pass rusher, but there’s no doubt that adding a player of Crosby’s caliber would significantly improve their outlook.
The team already has a talented defensive line that includes the likes of Braden Fiske, Poona Ford and Kobie Turner — not to mention two premier pass rushers in Jared Verse and Byron Young.
Crosby entering the mix would give the Rams one of the best defensive lines in all of football, and one that rivals the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
It is believed that the Raiders are seeking at least two first-round draft picks in any trade for Crosby. L.A. can comfortably meet that price, and they are also one of the few teams that can easily absorb his $30.78 million cap hit in 2026.
Rams’ Jared Verse not surprised by breakout season from Byron Young
One of the Rams’ breakout players from the 2025 season was outside linebacker Byron Young, who had a career year en route to his first Pro Bowl selection.
In 17 games, Young had 82 total tackles for the Rams while leading them with 12.0 sacks to go along with 12 tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
While a lot of people were surprised by the season that Young had as a former third-round pick out of Tennessee, one person who wasn’t is fellow outside linebacker Jared Verse.
Verse and Young have grown close over the last two seasons and give the Rams one of the best young pass rushing duos in the league. Verse is coming off a quality season of his own in which he recorded 58 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles, being named to his second Pro Bowl in two seasons with L.A.
