NFL Rumors: Rams Acquire Jalen Ramsey From Jaguars

It is no secret that the Los Angeles Rams’ 2019 season has not gone according to plan as after three straight losses to fall to 3-3, they currently sit in third place in the NFC West.

The team has dealt with a number of injuries, forcing some wholesale changes as Los Angeles traded for Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Austin Corbett, while also sending Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens for Kenny Young and a draft pick.

It appears those two trades were just a precursor to an even bigger move for Los Angeles. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, they are send two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder to the Jacksonville Jaguars for star cornerback Jalen Ramsey:

Ramsey was originally drafted fifth overall by the Jaguars in 2016 out of Florida State and has since developed into one of the best cornerbacks in the league, being named to two Pro Bowls and an All-Pro once.

He recently got into it with Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone on the sidelines during a game though, leading to Ramsey officially demanding a trade. It took longer than expected, but he finally got his wish and will be headed to a Rams team that has desires of competing right away. Considering the Rams gave up so much to get him, it is hard to see them not giving him a contract extension in the near future.

The Rams’ secondary is beat up and short-handed after Aqib Talib was placed on IR and PEters was traded, so Ramsey will immediately come in and bolster that unit.
