The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly interested in free agent wide receiver Austin Collie. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the 49ers have Collie on their radar, but will not make any moves before training camp begins.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported last month that former Indianapolis Coltswide receiver Austin Collie staged a promising workout with the 49ers in June, but no contract was offered. Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reported Friday that Collie still is on the radar, but the 49ers are unlikely to add another free-agent pass-catcher until after training camp starts.

The 49ers already added veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who played for the Baltimore Ravens last season, are looking to stock up at that wide receiver position with Michael Crabtree being injured.

Crabtree underwent surgery in May to repair a torn Achilles tendon in expected to need a minimum of six months to recover. If Crabtree does return six months after the surgery he would be ready to go around Thanksgiving.

Collie, 27, who has also had his share of injuries throughout his career, only had once reception last season. His best season came in his rookie year of 2009 when he caught 60 passes for 676 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 49ers are already deep at the position with veterans like Boldin, Mario Manningham along with youngsters such as Kyle Williams and A.J Jenkins. Collie is an experienced  quick receiver who could add to an already deep group, however his past injuries are the biggest concern.

The 49ers are looking to bounce back from their Super Bowl loss to the Ravens. Training camp opens up on July 24.
