The NFL officially announced that HBO’s Hard Knocks: Los Angeles, chronicling the Rams and Chargers preseason will debut Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The remaining four episodes of this season’s series of five will air subsequent Tuesdays at the same time, culminating in the Sept. 8 season finale. The Rams were featured on “Hard Knocks” in 2016, their first season back in L.A. when Jeff Fisher was still their head coach.

While that would make them ineligible to be on the show again this year, they will be making an exception for this joint edition with the Chargers. It will be the first two-team edition of the show in its 15 years.

With both teams moving into the brand new state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium for the 2020 season, the show will likely feature not only the opening of the stadium, but also behind-the-scenes content of both teams, which should be cool considering Rams fans will have the opportunity to see Sean McVay and Les Snead at work.

Despite excitement building for Hard Knocks and the 2020 NFL season, it is important to remember that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is still very prevalent, which could complicate some things. McVay recently discussed the challenges of this year’s training camp and preseason due to the pandemic as they will not be able to have any joint practices.

McVay still expressed excitement to be featured on the show, however.

“We are looking forward to having Hard Knocks in our camp this year,” McVay said in a statement. “Hard Knocks always offers a rare opportunity for our fans to see our players’ hard work to prepare for the season, as well as gives them a peek behind the curtain to observe these guys off the field, too. This year will be special because the show will also get an unprecedented look at SoFi Stadium, Stan Kroenke’s vision for professional football in L.A.”

With the start of training camp and Hard Knocks just around the corner, Rams and NFL fans finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, which makes for some exciting times ahead.
