Since the Cleveland Browns returned to the NFL in 1999 their quarterback situation has become something of a running joke across the league. The team has ran threw a number of different options, none of which have been the long-term answer.
With their most recent move, however, the Browns may have finally found their answer. At the very least, he has the potential to do so.
As was first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Browns have agreed to a two-year contract with Robert Griffin III:

The deal is worth $15 million with $3.25 million guaranteed. The former Redskin gave a statement to Cleveland fans via ESPN’s Pat McManamon:
“I’m excited about the opportunity to join the Dawg Pound and help build something here in Cleveland,” Griffin said in a statement. “Coach Hue and Pep, I had a great meeting with them. I really believe in what they preach and how they can help not only me as a player but this team win games, and that’s what we’re all about.”
For Griffin, this move to Cleveland is a chance to revive what was once a promising career. Griffin was named 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year over Andrew Luck, but differences with Redskins coach Jay Gruden, and a slew of injuries derailed him over the past couple of seasons.
The major question for the Browns now becomes what will they do with the second overall pick in April’s draft. Most had them pegged for a quarterback (Cal’s Jared Goff or NDSU’s Carson Wentz) and that could still be the case with a quarterback battle taking place in camp. But the Browns could also look elsewhere, so they will surely be a team to watch now.
