NFL News: Houston Texans Add Brock Osweiler, Lamar Miller In Free Agency

Two of the biggest names in free agency this off-season were quarterback Brock Osweiler and running back Lamar Miller. The Houston Texans, in need of offensive upgrades were surely targeting those positions.

The Texans were the league’s most unlikely of playoff teams last season and it showed as they were blasted in the Wildcard round by the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite having one of the NFL’s best defenses, their offense simply couldn’t put points up.

With free agency finally getting started, the Texans got their new quarterback of the future as they agreed to a four-year, $72 million deal with Osweiler according to Rand Getlin of NFL Network:

They weren’t done either as they also agreed to a four-year deal with running back Lamar Miller according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

The Texans were clearly looking to make a splash this off-season and they accomplished that goal by bringing in two of the biggest names at positions of need. Osweiler and Miller will combine with receiver DeAndre Hopkins to form an excellent offensive combination.

The AFC seems to be wide open now and the Texans could be a team that rises up into the upper echelon of the conference. At the very least they will be a team to watch if their offense can begin to match the production of their defense.
