The reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams are looking to load up and defend their crown ahead of the 2021 season.

Although the Rams saw Von Miller sign with the Buffalo Bills and made the tough decision to trade Robert Woods to the Tennessee Titans, they were able to pivot and sign Allen Robinson to a three-year deal. Los Angeles also made sure to extend Matthew Stafford and are reportedly making progress on an extension for Aaron Donald.

With general manager Les Snead at the helm, the Rams are always going to be a threat to land a big-name star no matter their cap situation. One name that has been floated around is Bobby Wagner, who was surprisingly cut from the Seattle Seahawks after they traded away Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.

Wagner recently visited Los Angeles and it appears the trip went well as he has agreed to a deal, via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

The Rams then took to social media to confirm the signing:

It’s a five-year deal, so Wagner, 31, may be looking to finish out his career with the Rams.

Inside linebacker has been an afterthought since head coach Sean McVay took over back in 2017, so Wagner instantly becomes the best player they have had at that position. The veteran should have plenty left in the tank as he ranked near the top of the league in tackles during the 2021 campaign, an area that defensive coordinator Raheem Morris will surely be happy about.

While this is another huge addition for the Rams, it also makes complete sense for Wagner, who is from Los Angeles and gets to stay in the NFC West. The Rams are on a quest to become the first team since the New England Patriots to repeat as Super Bowl champions, and bringing in Wagner will go a long way in making that a reality.
