Los Angeles has always been known as the city of stars, and one more is joining the mix after the Los Angeles Rams completed a blockbuster traded with the Cleveland Browns to acquire defensive end Myles Garrett.
Garrett is coming off a season in which he set the NFL sack record and should give the Rams the closer they have been missing on defense since Aaron Donald retired.
As Garrett begins to get comfortable in his new home, he will throw out the first pitch at the L.A. Dodgers’ game against the Angels on Saturday night, the team announced:

Garrett was very involved in the Cleveland community and sports scene, and it appears the same will be the case in L.A. as he is already attending a Dodgers game less than a week after being traded to the Rams.
Garrett has some Los Angeles ties as some of his family is from there, while his girlfriend and snowboarder Chloe Kim grew up in Torrance. That should help Garrett get assimilated in his new home quickly, which is great to see considering this is his first time being traded and playing for a team other than the Browns.
Similar to the Rams, the Dodgers are always looking to acquire elite talent and as a result, are looking to win their third straight World Series Championship this year. Seeing greatness up close like that will surely be a motivating factor for Garrett and the Rams, who are looking to get back to and win the Super Bowl themselves in 2026.
Myles Garret motivated by chance to compete for Super Bowl
The opportunity to compete for titles is why Garrett chose to waive his no-trade clause to come to the Rams as that is all that is motivating him at this stage of his career.
“Since the very beginning, it’s always been about winning,” Garrett said. “It just breaks down to the time I have left in this league. What does it look like for me to be a winner now? And to an opportunity to do that here, that was an opportunity that was just too difficult to pass up.”
Much like the Dodgers, the Rams are currently the Super Bowl favorites, although they still have a long way to go to make that happen.
