Michael Brockers Says Rams Defense Vs. 49ers ‘Unacceptable’

The Los Angeles Rams defense knew they had some work to do following their abysmal performance in Week 2 versus the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately, the short week did not allow them to make the adjustments they needed to.

The Rams barely squeezed out a 41-39 win on Thursday Night Football over a San Francisco 49ers team that had yet to score a touchdown to begin the 2017 NFL season. Defensive tackle Michael Brockers says that giving up that many points to the 49ers was just unacceptable, according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN:

“We feel like there’s so much we can clean up,” said Brockers. “There’s so much we can clean up. The points that they scored were unacceptable. Not saying we feel like we’re just the greatest defense ever, but we feel like we’re better than that.”

The Rams defense has been the strong suit of this team in recent years. As a result, seeing them struggle like this while this offense is clicking on all cylinders is a bit peculiar.

Fortunately, Los Angeles will have some extra time to prepare before they hit the road to face perhaps their staunchest test in the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are coming off perhaps their worst offensive performance since the start of the Dak Prescott/Ezekiel Elliot era.
