The Los Angeles Rams have continued to bolster their defensive roster, adding a stronger presence to their already dominant defensive line.

After re-signing William Hayes and Eugene Sims, head coach Jeff Fisher has elected to bring in another proven veteran.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Fisher has added a highly valued former New York Jet to the roster:

Quinton Coples has agreed to a 2-year deal with the #Rams, source said

Quinton Coples spent his first three seasons with the Jets, before being traded to the Miami Dolphins during his fourth season.

The 16th overall pick from the 2012 draft visited with the team prior to his decision, ultimately leaving in a strong mindset and in sync with Fisher and the organization.

With this announcement, it seems as though Coples can coincide with the starting four-man rotation for the Rams heading into next season. Behind Robert Quinn, Aaron Donald, and recently signed players Hayes and Sims, Coples can learn from the proven players and turn into a recovery project.

The contract terms have been released and show mutual encouragement from both sides, via Rand Getlin of NFL.com:

Im told it's a 2-year deal with a base value of $6.5M for DL Quinton Coples and the #Rams. Max value of $9.75M. Great landing spot for him.

Although Coples never found the form many were expecting, he hopes to flourish under Fisher. Also of note, Coples was teammates with Robert Quinn for two seasons at North Carolina.

In four seasons, Coples has 75 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 36 assisted tackles, and two forced fumbles in 62 games played.
