Training camp gets underway for NFL teams this week, which means Los Angeles Rams players are beginning to report to Loyola Marymount.

Among those players was running back Kyren Williams, who is heading into a contract year and has been discussing an extension with the Rams all offseason.

Despite those negotiations that are still ongoing, Williams is present at camp and let it be known that he will be playing this season, even if a new deal isn’t in place, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN:

It’s nice to see Williams maintaining a team-first mentality despite not having a new deal in place just yet. A lot of other players across the league will be holding out in hopes of a new deal, but Williams knows the Rams are building something special and wants to be a part of it this season.

Williams maintaining this attitude will likely help him in negotiations as the Rams have always valued team-first, high-characters players in their organization.

Williams has proven to be exactly that, and his play on the field the last two seasons has warranted a lucrative extension. The Rams have been hesitant to pay running backs since Todd Gurley, so it will be interesting to see if they find a deal with Williams that works for both sides or if he will play the upcoming season on an expiring contract before reaching free agency for the first time in his career.

Rams star Kyren Williams ranked 85th on NFL top 100

The NFL is currently unveiling it’s annual top 100 list for the 2025 season, and Rams running back Kyren Williams came in at No. 85.
