The Los Angeles Rams took care of business against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London to improve to 5-2 on the season.

Matthew Stafford tied a career-high with five touchdowns in the Rams’ 35-7 win, completing passes to 10 different receivers.

With Puka Nacua sidelined, seventh-round draft pick Konata Mumpfield got more playing time and made the most of his opportunities. He caught his only pass of the day — a five-yard touchdown — to give the Rams an early lead in the first quarter.

Mumpfield thanked his teammates and coaches for putting him in a good position to score his first NFL touchdown, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“It felt amazing,” Mumpfield said. “I just got to thank God for putting me in that situation. I want to thank (head) coach (Sean) McVay, (quarterback Matthew) Stafford, the whole team, because it’s a blessing for sure, especially over here in London, too.”

Mumpfield is focused on making steady progress and praised Davante Adams for all the knowledge that he has passed down to him:

“Really, just focusing on being the best version of myself,” Mumpfield said of his approach in such a deep wide receiver room. “It’s a blessing to be playing the game that we are today. So I mean, a lot of people wish they were in my shoes. So really, just taking a step at a time, a day at a time, stacking days, and learning as much as I can from those guys. Because, like I said, I mean, I prayed in college and in high school to learn from a guy like D Adams.”

Mumpfield has been somewhat overlooked this season due to Nacua, Adams, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell being ahead of him on the depth chart, but if he keeps making winning plays, it won’t be long before he becomes more of a factor in the Rams’ offense.

Terrance Ferguson ‘blessed’ to score first NFL touchdown in Rams’ win

Terrance Ferguson was another rookie who caught his first NFL touchdown in the Rams’ win over the Jaguars.

Matthew Stafford found the tight end for a 31-yard score in the fourth quarter that gave L.A. a four-possession lead.

After the game, Ferguson explained how he got so wide open for his first NFL touchdown.

“I was running the route, he was already panicking on the run in the corner, and then so the post was just wide open,” Ferguson said. “I’m just blessed to be put in that opportunity, the coaches and everyone to trust me. And obviously it was a great throw right, right in the bread basket.”
