With there still being some down time before NFL football is back, many teams around the league have begun drumming up anticipation by introducing new uniforms to be debuted for the upcoming season. The Arizona Cardinals overhauled their entire design while teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles will be debuting new throwback jerseys leading some to wonder if the Los Angeles Rams will be doing the same.

Last season, the Rams made a change to go with their white “modern throwback” jerseys as their primary road uniforms. With so many amazing looking designs popping up all over the league, Rams fans were likely hoping for some new looks this season, but unfortunately COO Kevin Demoff popped that bubble.

Demoff appeared on the 11 Personnel podcast with Jourdan Rodrigue and Rich Hammond and said that the franchise will not be introducing any new jerseys this year despite looking at many different possibilities:

“We’re not going to introduce a new jersey this season. We looked at a lot of different concepts over the past year and none of them felt like the right jersey to introduce,” Demoff said. “At this time, at this moment, whether it was looking at true alternates or throwbacks from different concepts historically, there was nothing that seemed like a great fit. We’ve always made it clear that we have the ability to add new uniforms. We also said we’re not going to add a uniform for the sake of adding a uniform.”

It is unfortunate for many fans, but as Demoff said, the franchise doesn’t want to add a uniform just to do it, they want it to fit the franchise. They could easily bring back some throwback jersey and make a lot of money, but that isn’t their philosophy.

Furthermore, Demoff would add that the franchise debuting new uniforms next year is unlikely as well:

“I think that’s really where the group landed this year and I think we feel very comfortable with the uniforms we have in the closet right now. Especially with last year’s change of making the white uniform our primary away uniform. I don’t think next year we’re necessarily on a different track. I think we’ll continue to explore. A different idea would have to pop up next year than what we’ve already explored. I think the earliest we’re probably looking at is 2025.”

That could always change as if an idea that the franchise really likes pops up, they could choose to unveil it. But for the time being, the Rams uniforms are set as they are.
