With the Los Angeles Rams earning themselves a victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 3, they remain atop the standings at 3-0. The Super Bowl hangover that some pundits expected has not shown as the team, particularly the defense, has come ready to play each game so far.
All the success the Rams have had the past three years under Sean McVay bodes well for their future in Los Angeles as they are set to move into the state-of-the-art stadium prior to the 2020 NFL season. The team recently announced their partnership with SoFi for the naming rights to their new game day home and it has already been booked for events.
One of those is a Kenny Chesney concert that is set to take place on Aug. 1, 2020. It will be the stadium’s second concert after Taylor Swift opens it up the week before, and it will also feature Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion and Michael Franti & Spearhead, some of country music’s biggest stars.
Chesney expressed his excitement to be able to perform in the new SoFi Stadium, via TheRams.com:
“These stadium shows are the most fun thing I do,” says the high-energy songwriter. “It’s been a year, so when I get out there, I wanna make sure that No Shoes Nation is being rocked, having fun and getting all the music they can out of the day. We always try to do something different, bring someone new – and for anyone who’s never seen Michael Franti and Spearhead, just wait!”
Jason Gannon, the managing director of SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, expressed his enthusiasm for Chesney’s show:
“Kenny Chesney will be one of the first concerts at SoFi Stadium,” said Jason Gannon, managing director, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. “We are thrilled to host such a talented roster of musicians that includes Kenny, Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion, and Michael Franti & Spearhead and their dedicated fans next summer. As we continue to announce spectacular events to our inaugural line-up of programming, the Chillaxification tour will be one of the extraordinary experiences we will introduce Los Angeles to when we open our doors July 2020.”
Chesney is one of country music’s most decorated artists as he has recorded 20 albums and has had several hits on the US Billboard Country charts. He has also earned a reputation for the energy he brings to his shows, which makes him a great choice for the venue.
Tickets for the concert go on sale beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. PT, and can be purchased at the SoFi Stadium website.
