Despite what was projected to be an offensive shootout turned into a defensive showdown in Twickenham Stadium as the Los Angeles Rams came up just short in their 17-10 loss to the New York Giants. For the third week in a row, the team’s offense failed to score when it mattered the most.

Rams quarterback Case Keenum came into the game riding high after his career night against the Detroit Lions last week. Unfortunately, that feeling quickly dissipated after he threw four interceptions against a New York defense that forced just three takeaways all year. The most crucial pick coming on a miscommunication with Brian Quick on the team’s final drive of the game.

However, during his post-game press conference, head coach Jeff Fisher says the team will stick with Keenum despite his recent struggles:

“The quarterback’s not the reason we lost three games, so I’m staying with Case,” Fisher said. “He had a couple of tips and things like that that are not necessarily his fault and Brian (Quick) didn’t get the audible adjustment at the end.”

Keenum actually got off to a hot start, completing 5-of-6 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. However, that was short-lived as he finished the day completing just 27-of-47 passes and four picks. While two of the interceptions were not on him, the other two ugly passes intended for Tavon Austin surely were.

Naturally, the calls for the top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to be the starter are now louder than ever. Los Angeles will have the bye week to reconvene before moving forward.
