Before the Los Angeles Rams 28-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in their preseason debut, rumors began to swirl about the team looking to sign both head coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead to contract extensions.
With speculation surrounding Fisher’s future with the Rams prior to the season, one would think the veteran coach would embrace any notion of staying in his hometown. However, Fisher has yet to confirm any kind of talk about an extension according to Joe Curley of Ventura County Star:
Asked about ESPN reports about being close to a contract extension with the Rams. "I haven’t talked to Adam Schefter or anybody"

Fisher still has yet to record a winning season since taking over as head coach in 2012. It is for this reason that many were wondering whether or not this season would be his last chance to show he is capable of leading this young, talented squad back into playoff contention.
He strongly expressed his expectations for the 2016 season during the first episode of Hard Knocks by reiterating that they will “not go 7-9”. While some would assume that Fisher would be chomping at the bit to lock up an extension, it seems even he wants to see how things play out for the Rams in their first year back in Los Angeles.
