Jalen Ramsey: Rams Have ‘A Little Extra’ Motivation From Dodgers And Lakers Championships

The Los Angeles Rams returned to the Super Bowl for the second time in four seasons after a double-digit comeback win against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game.

If they are able to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, it would be the city’s third Championship in three years, joining the L.A. Dodgers and L.A. Lakers, who both won in 2020. However, the Rams would be the first team to win in the city as the Dodgers won in Texas while the Lakers won in Florida.

As if the Rams aren’t already motivated enough after losing their previous Super Bowl appearance to the New England Patriots, the team has a little extra motivation to join the Dodgers and Lakers as recent champions, Jalen Ramsey said in a video posted by the NFL:

“Yeah, I guess you could say it’s been a little, maybe an extra motivating factor. It’s trying to, you know, the Lakers did it, Dodgers did it. We want to be able to do it as well. So yeah, it is a little extra motivating factor, I guess you could say.”

For the Rams, a championship would mark their first as an L.A. franchise after winning their previous title as a St. Louis franchise. It would also go a long way into cementing the legacies of Matt Stafford, Aaron Donald, Odell Beckham Jr., and Ramsey.

The team has an incredibly talented roster as they went all-in on winning now, but this time they also have a lot of Super Bowl experience that they lacked in 2019 and face a Bengals team they match up against well.

Everything seems to be coming together at the right time for the Rams, much like it did for the Dodgers and Lakers in their championship seasons, but they still need to get that final win.

Donald has a greater appreciation for second Super Bowl appearance

With a second chance to win a Super Bowl, the moment is not lost on Donald, who admitted that he is not taking this opportunity for granted.
