Coming out of their bye week, the Los Angeles Rams seemed poised to right the ship and get back in the win column, but instead, unfortunately saw themselves thoroughly outplayed by the Green Bay Packers.
For the third consecutive game, the Rams could not get out of their own way as turnovers gave Aaron Rodgers and the Packers easy opportunities to score. The defense did their best to make up for the lackluster offensive and special teams play, but it ultimately was not enough.
The loss to Green Bay brings Los Angeles’ losing streak to three games and Jalen Ramsey admitted he is shocked with the team’s skid, via Lindsey Thiry of ESPN:
“Of course I am,” Ramsey said. “We have guys that are way too good for us to be losing games like this and losing games on the road. We’ve just got to get it right. We have to play better, everything has to be better because we’re too good to be losing games like this but we’re not playing like we’re that good right now, so we got to correct our stuff.”
Ramsey also acknowledged that opposing teams have game-planned well to counter what the Rams want to do defensively:
“Offenses are definitely trying to get matchups where they think maybe best for them, they’re definitely trying to scheme up things a little bit differently to have us potentially playing things a little bit differently,” Ramsey said. “I mean, they’re doing their homework.”
Rodgers found little resistance carving up Los Angeles as the star recorded 307 yards for two passing touchdowns and another one on the ground. L.A.’s defense struggled to capitalize on third and fourth down situations which ultimately led to the offense trying to play catch up to no avail.
This has been a concerning stretch considering how well the Rams were playing through the first half of the season, though they do get a good get-right game in Week 13 against the woeful Jacksonville Jaguars.
