The Los Angeles Rams finally returned home, albeit licking wounds they sustained from a brutal Week 3 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Another tough loss to the Eagles came at a poor time as the Rams had to take on the red-hot Indianapolis Colts for Week 4.
The Colts entered the afternoon as one of the few remaining undefeated teams of the 2025 season. Head coach Shane Steichen has found a way to revitalize Daniel Jones who has looked like a completely different quarterback to start the year. Jones plus a dominant run game featuring Jonathan Taylor presented a difficult test for Los Angeles, though they managed to respond and win a gritty 27-20 game to improve to 3-1.
The Rams defense has been the biggest positive for the team this season and they showed why again as they picked off Jones on the Colts’ first offense possession. It marked Jones’ first turnover of the season, though L.A. only managed to score a field goal to make it 3-0.
Indianapolis responded with a field goal to tie it up on their next drive, and forced a turnover on downs when Matthew Stafford couldn’t get his quarterback sneak across. The turnover resulted in a Tyler Warren rush up the middle for the Colts’ first score of the day, leaving Los Angeles trailing 10-3.
Fortunately, the Rams were able to get back in the scoring column after another Joshua Karty field goal made it 10-6. They took the lead on the final possession of the half after Stafford marched the offense 96 yards down field and found Davante Adams in the end zone. L.A. went into halftime leading 13-10.
The second half looked rough to start as the Rams were forced to punt on their opening drive. Indianapolis then appeared to take the lead back after Jones found Adonai Mitchell down the left sideline for a long touchdown, but it was ruled a fumble in the end zone after the young receiver celebrated too early and let the football go.

From that point forward, the two teams traded punt after punt before Indianapolis opened the fourth with a touchdown to Michael Pittman Jr. Stafford and Kyren Williams then fumbled the football on a handoff the next drive, leading to another Colts field goal that made it 20-13.
With the team down, Puka Nacua went to work by catching all his targets for first downs and chunk gains. Nacua punctuated the possession with his first receiving touchdown of the season, tying the game up at 20-20.
Nacua had a huge day for the Rams, finishing with a career-high 170 yards on 13 receptions to go along with the touchdown.
Los Angeles’ defense then came up huge in the clutch, forcing the Colts to punt and putting the football back in Stafford’s hands. The veteran only needed one play to complete the comeback, hitting a wide-open Tutu Atwell downfield for an 88-yard touchdown that gave the Rams a 27-20 lead.
The defense officially ended the affair when they picked off Jones for a second time, both of which were Kam Curl.
What’s next for the Rams
The Rams don’t get much time to celebrate their Week 3 victory as they’ll play host to the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football to open Week 5.
