Highlights & Takeaways From Rams’ Week 11 Win Over Seahawks

The Los Angeles Rams faced their biggest test of the season in Week 11 when they welcomed the Seattle Seahawks to town for a first place showdown in the NFC West.

It was expected to be a tight battle between two of the best teams in the league, and that’s exactly how it played out as the Rams hung on for a 21-19 victory to improve to 8-2 on the season. Sean McVay’s team has now won five straight and are tied for the best record in the NFC.

In the first half of the season, the Rams had one of the best and more efficient offenses in the league. That unit struggled in this one, however, forcing the defense to step up and win the game.

That is exactly what they did as Sam Darnold had another poor game against the Rams, giving flashbacks to the playoffs last year.

Darnold was picked off four times on the day, including two by Kam Kinchens and one each by Cobie Durant and Darious Williams. The Rams needed every one of them as the Seahawks came storming back late before missing a 61-yard field goal as time expired.

Offensively, the Rams got off to a nice start as they scored two touchdowns in the first quarter. Kyren Williams was gashing the Seahawks with some big runs and then found the end zone, finishing with 12 carries for 91 yards.

Davante Adams and Colby Parkinson also scored touchdowns, but the Rams’ passing game didn’t do much outside of that as Matthew Stafford only had 130 yards through the air. Stafford didn’t turn the ball over, however, and the MVP favorite now has 22 touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last seven games.

For the Rams to win a game like this where there offense basically did nothing is impressive in its own right, and the hope is that McVay and Stafford get things sorted out on that side of the ball next week.

Perhaps the play of the game though was a massive punt by Ethan Evans with under two minutes to play. The Rams were up by two so a Seahawks field goal would have won it, but Evans had a perfect punt and pinned them inside the 1-yard line. The Seahawks still got close to field goal range before missing the attempt and likely would have won it if not for that punt.

What’s next for the Rams…

Things don’t get much easier for the Rams as they will host the first-place Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.
