The Los Angeles Rams finally got the opportunity to go up against a different team on Saturday as they traveled to Oxnard for a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys.

With all of the Rams’ starters likely not playing in the preseason, this was the only opportunity for them to have some real competition before Week 1, albeit in a controlled environment.

While the entirety of the scrimmage was not televised, there were some highlights that made its way to social media. Among them was a beautiful deep pass from Matthew Stafford to DeSean Jackson:

The Rams lacked a true deep threat last season, which is why they brought in Jackson, one of the best to ever do it in that department. His Rams tenure seems to be off to a good start as he looks to build chemistry with Stafford.

And of course, Aaron Donald also had a highlight of his own, blowing a run play up in the backfield:

Donald was also involving in a scuffle as there were a few different minor fights between the two teams, which doesn’t come as a huge surprise in this environment:

The Rams are set to open preseason play next Saturday against the L.A. Chargers, so this practice served as good preparation for that.

With some valuable reps now under their belts, the Rams can now get back to the practice field and work on what needs to be improved before they take the field in a game for real.
