Dak Prescott: ‘Player Of A Generation’ Aaron Donald Is Still Focus For Cowboys When Playing Rams

As a rough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7, the Los Angeles Rams look to bounce back in Week 8 when they travel to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

The Rams and Cowboys have squared off a few times in recent years, including once in the playoffs in 2019, so the two organizations are very familiar with each other.

Dak Prescott famously burst onto the scene during a preseason game against the Rams at the L.A. Coliseum as a rookie in 2016, earning him the backup job and then eventually becoming the starter after Tony Romo got injured.

Prescott is now a veteran quarterback looking to lead his team to a win in Week 8, although he knows that will be no easy task with Rams star Aaron Donald on the other side.

Ahead of this weekend’s matchup, Prescott had high praise for the player that Donald still is, revealing that he is the primary focus for the Cowboys offensive, via Saad Yousuf of The Athletic:

He still *that* Aaron Donald?

Dak Prescott: “Shit yeah he is. Yeah he is. I gotta play him this week, of course he is. He’s a talent. He’s still the focus…A player of a generation. Having played against him now for a while, he can ruin a game, so you’ve got to give him focus.” pic.twitter.com/Pnn3Dwarmi

Donald also had praise for Prescott and the Cowboys offense, knowing how dangerous they can be.

“I think they got a good group. We know they got a good back. I think they got a good offensive line. A couple of them guys been playing with each other for a long time, so (they) play well together,” Donald said. “We just got to do what we need to do to obviously stuff to run and then get after (Cowboys QB) Dak (Prescott) when he’s trying to drop back and pass. Obviously he’s able to make you miss, strong enough to get out of your tackle so when you come with it, you got to come physical, make sure you wrap him up and get him down.”

At 3-4, this is a big game for the Rams if they want to stay in the postseason picture so hopefully they come out hot in what should be a hostile road environment.

Donald continues to be exceptional for L.A., but he will need some help from the Rams’ young defense to shut down Prescott and the Cowboys offense coming off a bye.
