Cooper Kupp Says Rams Have ‘All The Faith In The World’ In Jared Goff

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff caught plenty of flak for his underwhelming performance in the 2019 NFL season.

Goff had seemingly taken the necessary strides into emerging as a bonafide franchise quarterback after being named to two consecutive Pro Bowls while also leading the Rams to the Super Bowl in just his third season. Unfortunately, they were unable to follow it up after going 9-7 and missing the playoffs in 2019.

As a result, there has been plenty of speculation regarding whether or not Goff is still the right man for the job. Fortunately, that does not appear to be the case in the locker room.

Wide receiver Cooper Kupp says the team still has complete faith in Goff as their quarterback, via TMZ Sports:

“We have all the faith in the world in Jared,” the Rams superstar receiver says. “Absolutely love him.”

It is certainly encouraging to see that Kupp coming to bat for his quarterback in an offseason where he has faced plenty of criticism. This should come as no surprise considering the type of rapport he and Goff share both on and off the field.

Kupp immediately emerged as a favorite target for Goff ever since his arrival as a former second-round pick. Their chemistry clearly paid huge dividends for their production as he became quite the safety net in the Rams’ passing game.

Kupp established himself as a potential NFL Comeback Player of the Year candidate in the 2019 campaign by hauling in 94 catches for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns coming off a torn ACL. While he may have managed to find his footing again, the same cannot be said for Goff after his increased usage led to an erratic year under center.

Despite his struggles, Goff was hardly the primary reason for the Rams’ sudden drop-off on offense given their changes along the offensive line and inability to establish any kind of run game. Regardless, fans can take solace in the fact that Goff still has the confidence of his fellow teammates in the locker room.
