Buccaneers’ Tom Brady Jokes That He Should’ve Stayed Retired After Watching Rams’ Aaron Donald Workout Video

In what has arguably been the most hectic offseason in NFL history, one of the biggest stories belongs to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

The future Hall of Famer initially announced his plans to retire after a heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round. However, the 44-year-old changed course less than two months later and returned to the Buccaneers for another Super Bowl run.

As Brady prepares for his 23rd NFL season, he recently joked that he should’ve stayed retired after watching one of Aaron Donald’s workout videos, via NFL:

Donald ironically considered retirement himself this offseason, but is officially back with the Rams after the team reworked his contract and made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Donald already is one of the greatest defensive players of all-time and further padded his resume after helping the Rams defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

Donald has eight Pro Bowl selections under his belt and consistently wreaks havoc on opposing quarterbacks, so while Brady’s comments were made in jest, he can’t be too excited about facing the 31-year-old again.

The Buccaneers and Rams boast two of the most talented rosters and will face each other this season in Week 9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
