Aaron Donald spent a decade with the Los Angeles Rams and established himself as one of the best defensive players of his generation before retiring at the end of the 2023 season.

Donald still follows the Rams closely, but has stated multiple times over the last year that he does not miss playing football. That’s despite efforts from head coach Sean McVay to convince the future Hall of Famer to return to the team.

Donald recently launched a new podcast with Atlanta Falcons legend Matt Ryan, sportscaster Zach Klein and agent Todd France.

On the debut episode, Donald shared a funny story of when he used to sneak out of his hotel room during Rams training camp because he didn’t like having roommates:

sooo… the time Aarond Donald, who’s not a fan of roommates…snuck out of Rams training camp

Donald was just a rookie at the time, but it’s hard to fault him for wanting his own space. As he became a leader with the Rams over the years, he was eventually given his own room.

Donald made the Pro Bowl in all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Rams, won the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award three times and additionally was selected to eight All-Pro first teams. He totaled 543 tackles, 111 sacks, 176 tackles for loss and 24 forced fumbles in his career with the Rams, and helped the team win Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Aaron Donald believes Rams will be ‘much better’ in 2025

After falling just short of the NFC Championship Game last season and making several additions to their roster, Aaron Donald believes the Los Angeles Rams will be much improved this year.

“A better year. Obviously, the offense is going to be stand-packed. Still got a lot of veteran guys, a lot of good players. But when it pertained to the defense, had a young defense that pressed a lot of people. Now they’re coming back for a second year together. They got that experience with each other,” Donald said.

“I know they’re going to be that much better with each other. The more you play with the team, play with guys, the more comfortable you feel. You understand. How to play off guys, and do things like that. So I’m hoping that it’s going to be a better year than what it was last year, and it was a pretty good year. So I’m just going to be, as a fan in the stands, or on the couch watching, cheering them on. That’s it. But sky’s the limit for them guys.”
