The Los Angeles Rams continue to struggle after losing their fourth straight game to make them 3-5 on the 2016-17 NFL season. While the current issues lie with the substandard offense and their lack of ability to put points on the board, fans are beginning to wonder if the problem starts with head coach Jeff Fisher.
There were rumors swirling about the Rams potentially signing both Fisher and general manager Les Snead to an extension during the preseason. However, nine weeks into the season, opinions have quickly changed as Fisher now sits on perhaps the hottest seat in the league.
Despite the myriad of issues plaguing the Rams right now, Fisher is not uncomfortable with the uncertainty regarding his future with Los Angeles beyond this season according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN:
“I’m not uncomfortable at all,” Fisher said. “I’m uncomfortable because I didn’t expect to be 3-and-whatever we are, but I’m not uncomfortable at all. I never look over my shoulder. We’re moving on.”
Team owner Stan Kroenke has expressed he is pleased this team is trending in the right direction and is excited for the future of the organization. Whether or not Fisher is a part of that future remains to be seen.
The Rams have been battling mediocrity for some time, hovering around 7-9 for the last five years. Los Angeles will need to bounce back strong in the coming weeks if they hope to avoid any more “7-9 bulls–t.”
