Much has been made about Aaron Donald potentially coming out retirement to team up with Myles Garrett on the Los Angeles Rams next season.

That possibility only gained momentum on Friday when Donald was captured from afar working out at the Rams’ training facility for about an hour until he tired himself out, via Michael J. Babcock of TMZ:

Aaron Donald spent this afternoon on the Rams practice field.
Told he went through several drills over about an hour and looked gassed walking off the field.
This comes amid talk the retired NFL superstar could make a comeback.

With training camp beginning later this month, Donald could potentially make an official announcement about his NFL plans in the coming days and weeks.

Donald has dropped plenty of hints about a possible return in recent weeks, including a simple emoji response on a ClutchPoints Instagram post.

Donald last played for the Rams in 2023, which was the 10th and final season of his career. A surefire future Hall of Famer, Donald has repeatedly said over the years that he is happy being retired and does not want to return to football.

However, Donald has left open the possibility of a comeback to play with a star player like Garrett. He first hinted about such a move when the Rams were linked to Micah Parsons last summer before he was traded to the Green Bay Packers.

Donald is now an unrestricted free agent, so if he does decide to return, he would have to work out a new deal with the Rams.

Sean McVay details what Ty Simpson should focus on in first Rams training camp

When the Rams selected Ty Simpson with the 13th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, it was a move clearly aimed for the future.

Simpson is not expected to make much of an impact next season with reigning MVP Matthew Stafford returning at quarterback, but it will still be an important first year for the 23-year-old.

Rams head coach Sean McVay detailed what Simpson should be focusing on during the team’s offseason program, which includes his communication, throwing mechanics and footwork.

McVay previously raved about Simpson’s college tape, and several players have noted his strong work ethic during offseason workouts.
