According to Pat Benson of Sports Illustrated, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has signed a sneaker deal with Jordan Brand.
McVay becomes the third coach to sign a deal with the iconic brand, joining Sean Payton and Ron Rivera.
Jordan Brand said in a statement, “Recognized as one of the most innovative minds in football, McVay leads with clarity, connection, and an unwavering standard that aligns naturally with the Jumpman ethos. He made history as the youngest head coach ever hired in the NFL and later became the youngest to reach and win a Super Bowl. As only the third coach to join Jordan Brand, McVay brings a powerful new dimension to the family, one rooted in vision, culture building, and championship level excellence. Across the league, he is known for inspiring people, elevating those around him, and setting a tone that others rise to. That spirit, raising the bar, staying consistent, and leading with purpose, reflects the very foundation of Jordan Brand.”
McVay has usually worn Nike shoes on the sidelines while coaching the Rams, but now will obviously make the switch to Jordan Brand, who continues to expand beyond the basketball court into every sport and scene.
Jordan Brand will now be a big part of the Rams family as both Puka Nacua and Davante Adams also have deals with them, something McVay will now be able to relate to his star receivers about.
Myles Garrett excited to play for Sean McVay
McVay is a player’s coach and has an exceptional reputation around the league because of that. In fact, when Myles Garrett got traded to the Rams, he expressed how excited he is to get to play for McVay.
“They love playing the game, and they love playing the game for this guy,” Garrett said, turning his left hand and pointing his thumb at McVay. “And that means a lot, having a player’s coach lead you onto that field and wanting to give the extra effort and go the extra mile for him and for each other. That’s kind of what you feel going onto that field – these guys are going to war, not just as individuals, but as a team, and that’s how you end up playing those games later into the year.”
That excitement is definitely mutual as McVay could not contain it when the Rams recently introduced Garrett at a press conference.
