A bit of a surprising move last offseason was the Los Angeles Rams re-signing wide receiver Tutu Atwell to a one-year, $10 million contract.
That wasn’t an insane overpay, but the Rams had struggled to find a legit role for Atwell since drafting him in the second round out of Louisville in 2021.
They had plans to change that in 2025, but that never came to fruition as Atwell only played in 10 games and had six total receptions for 192 yards and a touchdown. He often found himself as a healthy scratch towards the end of the year.
With that being the case, the speedster was expected to move on from the organization that drafted him this offseason, and that is exactly what is happening. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Atwell is returning to Florida, where he grew up, by signing with the Miami Dolphins:

The Dolphins parted ways with Tyreek Hill this offseason, so bringing in someone with Atwell’s speed to help make up for that loss makes a lot of sense.
Hopefully Atwell can carve out an actual role in Miami, which was never really the case in Los Angeles.
As far as the Rams go, they still have Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield under contract with Xavier Smith expected to return as well. They could still be in the market for a speedster to take the top off defenses and help replace Atwell, whether that be in free agency or the draft.
Rams star Puka Nacua motivated to play in Super Bowl
The Rams came up just short in their quest to win the Super Bowl this past season, but that is only serving as motivation for star wide receiver Puka Nacua, who made it clear his dream remains playing under the brightest NFL lights of the Super Bowl.
“That’s what you live for,” said Nacua in a one-on-one interview with RG about playing in the Super Bowl. “You live your dream about that as a little kid to play in those big games. Obviously we didn’t have the outcome that we wanted, but it drives that competitive edge to head into the offseason, and that motivation to continue to get better. I know everybody on our team, with how young we are and how many playoff games have had a chance to play since being in the league. I think all the guys that were drafted by the Rams in 2023 have played a playoff game every single year since I’ve been in the league.”
