The Los Angeles Rams came up short against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game with a chance to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LX for a matchup with the New England Patriots. Instead, the Seahawks will be representing the NFC against the Patriots with kickoff at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara set for 3:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, Feb. 8, with NBC/Peacock providing coverage.

The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2019 when the franchise was nearing the end of the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era.

They are now led by second-year quarterback Drake Maye and first-year head coach Mike Vrabel, who have done an outstanding job getting the team back in contention.

Maye had an MVP-caliber season, leading the Patriots to a 14-3 record and No. 2 seed in the AFC. They have defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos in the playoffs to get to this point.

Maye’s biggest competition for MVP and the likely winner is Stafford, who had a great NFC Championship Game in Seattle but wasn’t able to lead his team back one final time.

The Seahawks were the one seed and deserving so, doing the little things better, such as special teams, to beat the Rams.

While the Rams now have a long offseason to think about the mistakes that plagued them, the Seahawks and Patriots will begin their preparation for Super Bowl LX, set to take place in less than two weeks.

Seahawks-Patriots Super Bowl history

The Seahawks and Patriots are meeting in the Super Bowl for the second time with New England beating Seattle 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX on February 1, 2015. That was one of the best games in NFL history with both teams going back and forth.

Ultimately, Russell Wilson threw an interception to Malcolm Butler on the final play of the game in the end zone to secure the win for the Patriots.
