The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Chicago Bears in overtime in the Divisional Round to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship Game for a matchup with the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. The teams will meet on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. PT, with FOX televising the contest.

It marks the third game between the Rams and Seahawks this season. L.A. edged out Seattle, 21-19, at SoFi Stadium in Week 11 before dropping a heartbreaker to their NFC West rival on the road in Week 16.

The Rams blew a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter and ended up losing, 38-37, in overtime. It was a crushing defeat as the Rams squandered an opportunity to take control of the division and No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

The Seahawks instead won the NFC West and secured home-field advantage throughout the postseason, which played a big role in their 41-6 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. The Rams started their playoff run as a Wild Card team last week and had to overcome a late deficit against the Carolina Panthers before racking up a second consecutive win over the Bears.

L.A. hasn’t looked great this postseason, but they have come through when needed as Matthew Stafford led two game-winning drives to get to this point.

The Rams and Seahawks have faced off two previous times in the playoffs, with their most recent meeting coming during the NFC Wild Card round in 2021. L.A. won that game, 30-20, before going on to fall to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round.

The Rams won their only other postseason game against the Seahawks in 2005, when they still played in St. Louis. That matchup was also on the road, so L.A. will look to make it three in a row in Seattle.

Rams looking for continued success against Sam Darnold

If the Rams are going to improve to 3-0 in the playoffs against the Seahawks, they will need to continue their recent success against Sam Darnold.

The former USC star is 2-4 in his career against the Rams, including last year’s 27-9 loss to the team in the Wild Card round when he still played for the Minnesota Vikings.
