Matthew Stafford is finally getting the recognition he deserves as he tries to lead the Los Angeles Rams to another Super Bowl title.

Stafford delivered a game-winning drive in the Wild Card Round against the Carolina Panthers and is now set to return to Soldier Field to play the Chicago Bears in the NFC Divisional Round.

Caleb Williams has looked like a budding star in his second season, though he has often referenced Stafford as one of the quarterbacks he looks up to the most.

Ahead of the Rams-Bears matchup, Williams had high praise for Stafford, via the Bears’ official X account:

“He’s at the top of the game right now, and at his age and things like that. And so, that’s something you can learn from. Then also, just how he plays the game. He can drop back, and he has what everybody calls ‘snake eyes,’ and things like that. And just knowing defenses, knowing the offense, and being able to move people where you want to move them is something he’s been able to do very well, and then, trusting and believing his guys to be in the right position at the right time. And so, learning from that is big… His feet are always under him. He can make any throw at any time. Guys in his face, O-linemen, maybe, getting pushed back. Not looking, all these different things, and it comes down to his feet. It ties the routes with his receivers, the timing, all of that, with his feet. And, obviously, he has a cannon. So, to be able to watch him over the years, and also last year to this year in person, is going to be fun and enjoyable.”

Williams has been one of the more electric quarterbacks this year, inducing his own offensive chaos similar to Stafford’s gunslinger tendencies. It’s clear that there’s a lot of respect for the Los Angeles veteran, creating an interesting subplot to their upcoming duel.

Stafford is no stranger to playing in Chicago after all his time with the Detroit Lions in the NFC North, so the conditions shouldn’t affect his play too much. In what could end up being a shootout, it will be exciting to see which quarterback punches their team’s ticket to the NFC Championship.

Matthew Stafford says Rams embracing cold weather versus Bears

The Rams enjoy the sunny Southern California during the regular season, but now must endure the brutal cold against the Bears this weekend. However, Stafford and the rest of the team aren’t phased and are even embracing the cold weather game.
