The Los Angeles Rams have managed to stay relatively healthy this season, although they suffered some blows in their Week 11 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

One of the injuries was to safety Quentin Lake, who was in the midst of a Pro Bowl-caliber season playing the Star position.

Lake hurt his elbow against the Seahawks and Sean McVay expressed some concern that the 26-year-old will miss some time. It appears that will be the case as he already underwent elbow surgery and could return for the playoffs, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

#Rams S Quentin Lake had successful surgery yesterday to repair an elbow injury, per me and @MikeGarafolo, though there is a good chance for Lake to return later this season in the playoffs.

The good news is the injury doesn’t seem to be season-ending, so the hope is that Lake will be able to return in time for the Rams’ postseason run.

In 10 games this season, Lake has 6 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one interception and 10 passes defensed.

When he went out against the Seahawks, it was Josh Wallace that replaced him and manned the slot for L.A. He will likely continue to get more reps moving forward, although the team also recently acquired cornerback Roger McCreary from the Tennessee Titans. He has played well in the slot in the past so could get some starting reps as well once he gets up to speed with the defense.

Regardless, the Rams defense will be without one of its leaders for the rest of the regular season which is a big blow. Lake is also in a contract year, so this injury is an unfortunate one for all parties.

Sean McVay pumped up after Rams win over Seahawks

With the Rams and Seahawks battling for first place in the NFC West, the Week 11 win was a big one and that was reflected by Sean McVay being a little more pumped up than usual during his postgame speech in the locker room.
