The Los Angeles Rams have been rolling as of late and they looked to keep that going in Week 10 when they traveled to take on the division rival San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers have been decimated by injuries this season, but they still beat the Rams in overtime in Week 5 so L.A. was looking for some revenge to take control of the NFC West. That is exactly what happened as Sean McVay’s team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, cruising to a 42-26 victory to improve to 7-2 on the year.

Matthew Stafford has been playing at an MVP level this season and that continued in this one. The Rams scored touchdowns on their first three drives to take a 21-0 lead and didn’t take their foot off the gas pedal from there.

Stafford finished the day completing 24-of-36 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns, one of which was the 400th of his illustrious career.

Perhaps most impressive about Stafford’s command of the Rams’ offense is his ability to spread the ball around as Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Davis Allen and Colby Parkinson all caught touchdowns. Adams now leads in the league with nine touchdown catches in nine games.

Stafford has been on a heater as of late as he is the first quarterback in NFL history with a six-game span of 20 touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s also the sixth player all-time to have four or more touchdown passes in three straight games.

L.A. had the ground game working too as Kyren Williams had 73 yards and two touchdowns while Blake Corum had 56 yards of his own.

Meanwhile, the Rams defense was also dominating early to take the 21-0 lead as Nate Landman had another forced fumble, this time on Jauan Jennings, and then Byron Young had a big fourth down stop on Christian McCaffrey.

Once the Rams were up big their defense slipped a little, but Emmanuel Forbes Jr. had an interception of Mac Jones in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory. It was Forbes’ second straight week with an interception.

Going into this game, the Rams made a change at the kicker position as they brought in Harrison Mevis with Joshua Karty struggling. Mevis didn’t attempt a field goal but made all six of his extra points, so he will likely get another opportunity for L.A. next weekend.

What’s next for the Rams…

The Rams’ next matchup is a big one as they will welcome the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks to town for a first place showdown in the NFC West. It will mark Cooper Kupp’s return to SoFi Stadium and the Rams will also be debuting their “Midnight Mode” uniforms.
