The Los Angeles Rams return from their bye for a home game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9.
The Rams will have a unique challenge in facing Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, who is making his first career NFL start.
The Saints are coming off a 23-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which saw Shough replace Spencer Rattler in the third quarter.
The second-round pick out of Louisville completed 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. It was his second career NFL game, having previously appeared against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3.

Shough’s first start will come against one of the tougher defenses in the NFL, and it will be interesting to see how each side tries to counter each other.
It’s a big opportunity for Shough, who can cement himself as the Saints’ long-term starter at quarterback with a strong performance.
Meanwhile, the Rams will look to keep up with the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West standings as both teams are tied for first place at 5-2.
Rams place Tutu Atwell on injured reserve
The Los Angeles Rams placed wide receiver Tutu Atwell on injured reserve, who has been battling a hamstring injury in recent weeks.
Atwell will be sidelined for at least the next four games and could potentially return in Week 13 against the Carolina Panthers.
He signed a one-year, $10 million contract to return to the Rams this season and was expected to have a larger role in the offense.
That hasn’t been the case so far as Atwell has only caught four passes on nine targets for 164 yards and one touchdown in six games.
With Atwell unavailable for the next month, the Rams will likely give more opportunities to Jordan Whittington and seventh-rounder Konata Mumpfield.
