The Los Angeles Rams have started the 2025 season 2-0 but face their toughest test to date as they head on the road to take on the defending Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles in a primetime Week 3 matchup.

It’s a rematch of the Rams-Eagles NFC Divisional Game where Philadelphia was able to stave off Los Angeles in the fourth quarter. Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense had a chance to score the go-ahead touchdown in the final minute of the game, but just missed on a pass to Puka Nacua that allowed the Eagles to escape with the win.

Los Angeles was gashed on the ground by Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts that game, so the team responded in free agency by signing Poona Ford and Nate Landman to shore up their run defense. So far, the Rams defense has been the driving factor in their two wins this season and will be counted on to lead the way against the Eagles who are also 2-0.

Ahead of the highly-anticipated rematch, head coach Sean McVay announced Steve Avila is doubtful for the contest while Braden Fiske and Colby Parkinson are listed as questionable, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

Sean McVay said Steve Avila (ankle) will be doubtful, while Braden Fiske (oblique) and Colby Parkinson (shoulder) will be questionable for Sunday’s game at Eagles

Avila sprained his ankle in the Week 1 against the Houston Texans and while he has yet to be officially ruled out it’s highly unlikely he actually suits up. Ankle sprains are typically multi-week injuries so it would not be shocking for L.A. to continue playing it safe with Avila next week and potentially beyond.

If Avila is out for the second straight game then Justin Dedich would likely get another start at left guard in his place.

Meanwhile, Fiske and Parkinson being available would help the trenches on both sides of the field as the former is a disrupter on every down while the latter is one of the better blocking tight ends on the roster. Fiske tweaked his oblique in warmups last week, while Parkinson has been dealing with a shoulder injury he sustained in Week 1.

There should be a lot of intrigue in this matchup as these are two of the best teams in the NFC. The Rams will have an opportunity to make a statement and it’ll be interesting to see if they can exact revenge on the Eagles.

NFL instructing officials to call Tush Push tight ahead of Rams-Eagles

The Tush Push controversy hit new heights after it appeared multiple false starts were missed in the Eagles-Chiefs game, so the NFL is instructing officials to call the play tight during Rams-Eagles.
