A big focus for the Los Angeles Rams this offseason has been the offensive side of the ball as they have used free agency to upgrade at a few positions.
The Rams’ big splash was at the wide receiver position as they agreed to a two-year contract with Davante Adams, pairing him with Puka Nacua and the rest of their young receiving corps.
Adams has worn No. 17 throughout his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, but that of course has been occupied by Nacua the last two seasons.
It appears Adams will get to wear his number though as Nacua and the Rams took to social media to announce the third-year wide receiver will be switching to 12:
It will be interesting to find out what Adams gave Nacua for the number, although the latter is a team player so was surely going to do whatever it took to make his new teammate comfortable.
As Nacua wrote in the social media post, 12 is his family’s number so he was likely happy to make the switch. He wore No. 12 in both high school and college at BYU, but it was worn by Van Jefferson when he was first drafted by the Rams, which is why he chose 17 instead.
Now that the jersey numbers are sorted out, Nacua and Adams can focus on being the best wide receiving duo in the NFL as they certainly have a case even with the latter being in the twilight of his career.
Rams expected to release Cooper Kupp if they can’t trade him
Davante Adams will be replacing Cooper Kupp as Puka Nacua’s running mate during the 2025 season. Kupp announced the Rams’ intention to trade him earlier in the offseason and if they are unable to do so, they are expected to release the franchise icon at the start of the new league year.
