The Los Angeles Rams capped off a disappointing season with a 19-16 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18 to finish 5-12, the worst record for any defending Super Bowl champion in NFL history.
The Rams hoped to play spoiler and took a 13-6 lead into halftime but scored only three points in the second half, which paved the way for the Seahawks’ comeback.
After the game, tight end Brycen Hopkins had a touching moment with a couple of Rams fans who made the trip to Lumen Field, which he shared on Twitter:

Hopkins was clearly frustrated after losing the final game of the 2022 season in heartbreaking fashion but had his spirits lifted by the young Rams fans who spread positivity.
Hopkins revealed in a follow-up tweet that he gave the boys his gloves and hopes to treat them to a Rams game next season.
The tight end was selected by the Rams out of Purdue in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and appeared in a career-high 14 games last year, catching seven of his 11 targets for 109 yards.
Hopkins is entering his fourth NFL season and figures to continue receiving steady playing time as the backup tight end to Tyler Higbee.
Rams part ways with Joe DeCamillis & other coaches
In an offseason where plenty of turnover was expected, the Rams relieved special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis, offensive line coach Kevin Carberry, defensive backs coach Jonathan Cooley, assistant defensive line coach Skyler Jones and defensive assistant Lance Schulters of their duties.
The NFL internal transaction wire also noted the departure of Liam Coen. who took a job with the University of Kentucky to become their offensive coordinator.
There was some thought that Rams head coach Sean McVay would retire as well, but he recently confirmed he will return to the team for his seventh season in 2023. McVay said he didn’t want to leave on a bad note and is returning to help the team get back on track.
