The Los Angeles Rams announced that they designated wide receiver Van Jefferson, cornerback Troy Hill and linebacker Travin Howard to return from injured reserve coming out of their bye week.
This allows all three players to return to the practice field and the Rams now have 21 days to officially activate them from IR to return to game action.
Getting these players healthy is obviously great news for the Rams, who have been decimated by injuries through the first six weeks of the season. The bye week came at a perfect time for L.A. as not only are Jefferson, Hill and Howard close to returning, but more reinforcements are on the way such as Brian Allen, Cobie Durant, Bobby Brown and others.
As far as this group though, Jefferson is the most notable of the bunch as the Rams have sorely lacked a deep threat while he missed the first six games of the season with a knee injury.
Getting Hill back to help man the slot will also be big considering the Rams’ secondary is extremely banged up.
Howard plays a position in linebacker that the Rams aren’t in dire need of but has played well in his opportunities over the last couple of seasons. Bobby Wagner and Ernest Jones have played really well this season so Howard will serve as depth in case either gets injured moving forward.
With the Rams hosting the division rival San Francisco 49ers coming out of their bye in Week 8, it is the perfect time to welcome these key pieces back and hopefully they can remain healthy and avoid landing back on IR this season.
