Even after winning a Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams have a hard time dominating the fan attendance at SoFi Stadium.
Since coming back to Los Angeles, the team has had to deal with an influx of opposing teams’ fans taking over the venue and in some instances even forcing the Rams into silent counts. Not having homefield advantage when your own stadium isn’t a good look and the same problem reared its head again in Week 5 when the Dallas Cowboys came to town.
The Cowboys are one of the country’s most beloved teams, and their fans were in full force this past Sunday as they made it feel like an away game for the Rams. After the loss, outside linebacker Terrell Lewis had some choice words for the fan base via his Twitter account:

L.A. is a city of transplants that didn’t have an NFL football team to root on for a long time, so it makes sense why the Rams would struggle with fan attendance. To Lewis’ point, though, it can be awfully frustrating for a player to look into the stands and feel like the crowd’s against them when they’re supposed to feel at home.
Perhaps Lewis’ words will spurn more Rams fans to come to the game and cheer for them, but for the time being, it’s fair to expect that the league’s most popular teams will have their fair share of fan support. Los Angeles should have a better ratio in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers but they’ll find themselves in another “away game” when the San Francisco 49ers visit following the bye.
