After a historic 2021 season, Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp was nominated for two awards at the 2022 ESPYS in “Best Championship Performance” and “Best NFL Player.”
The annual awards ceremony took place on Wednesday night at Dolby Theater in L.A., and Kupp did well for himself by winning both of the awards he was nominated for.
For “Best Championship Performance,” Kupp was up against UFC fighter Julianna Peña, Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen and Colorado Avalanche star Cale Makar. For “Best NFL Player,” the other nominees included T.J. Watt, Aaron Rodgers and Jonathan Taylor.
The first award that Kupp won was for his historic postseason run in which he capped it off by winning Super Bowl MVP, scoring the game-winning touchdown in the Rams’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals:

These awards are group achievements.

The Rams were also nominated for “Best Team,” although the Golden State Warriors wound up taking home that award.
It was still an exceptional night for Kupp and the Rams with other players from the Super Bowl-winning team like Beckham, Von Miller, Andrew Whitworth and Aaron Donald also in attendance.
Now, the Rams are set to receive their Super Bowl rings on Thursday night, which will mark the final celebration before the team begins training camp, moving on to the 2022 season, where they will hope to repeat.
