The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants. Also Tuesday, the Rams are bringing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Dodger Stadium and fans can take pictures with it in the center field plaza during the first four innings.
This is part of the Rams’ trophy tour that’s going on across Los Angeles, allowing fans in different areas a look at what the organization won for beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl.
For Kupp, this is also a cool honor that he has not done before. Other Rams players like Jalen Ramsey and Matthew Stafford have attended Dodgers games over the last couple years, with the two organizations sharing a good relationship.
Kupp is obviously coming off a historic season that he capped off by being named Super Bowl MVP after catching the game-winning touchdown from Stafford. He has repped L.A. more than anyone since the Super Bowl, sporting a Kobe Bryant jersey at the parade, attending Lakers games and now throwing out the first pitch at a Dodgers game.
It remains to be seen if any other Rams players will be in attendance, but a number of them recently were at Rams Night at the Los Angeles Kings game so that will likely also be the case at Dodger Stadium with the trophy in attendance.
Like the Rams, the Dodgers have championship aspirations in 2022 and are off to a good start, so hopefully they can keep it going with a win on Tuesday night in front of Kupp and the Rams.
