A little over two years ago, the Los Angeles Rams completed a blockbuster trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire star cornerback Jalen Ramsey in exchange for two first-round picks.

The deal was met with a lot of criticism considering what the Rams gave up as while Ramsey was a great player, many were uncertain about his leadership ability as well as just the overall impact a cornerback can make.

Ramsey immediately proved all the doubters wrong though as he has been great in his time with the Rams both on and off the field, earning every penny of the five-year, $105 million extension he signed with L.A.

He now gets set to face his former team for the first time with the Rams welcoming the Jaguars to town in Week 13. Even though Ramsey demanded a trade to leave the team that drafted him, he expressed that there are no hard feelings toward them ahead of this weekend’s game, via Gary Klein of the L.A. Times:

“I’m genuinely grateful for my time there and that whole experience,” Ramsey said of Jacksonville after practice. “Like, it was a part of my life that I needed, that I appreciated, and I went through things there that make me a better man today, make me appreciate the situation I’m in today even more.

“Just some things I went through there. … I’m grateful for that part of my journey. Now, I’m super blessed and happy to be on this part of my journey too.”

As far as the actual game goes, this is one the Rams need to win to snap their three-game losing streak and get back into Super Bowl contention.

In order to do that, Ramsey feels the Rams defense needs to get back to creating turnovers:

“That kind of goes hand in hand,” he said. “For us to be dominant, we need to get those turnovers. And we haven’t gotten as many as we need.”

The good news is that Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been prone to turnovers this season, recording 10 interceptions and four fumbles lost.

Even though the Jaguars are 2-10, the Rams shouldn’t take them lightly though as anything can happen on any given Sunday, and the last thing this team wants is to drop a fourth straight game to an inferior opponent.
